- Introduction to HSG 47/HSG185
- Basic principles of location and avoidance of underground services
- Reading and interpreting site plans
- Practical use of cable locating equipment
- Safe digging practices

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Identify potential risks to themselves and others
- Read and understand site plans
- Operate cable avoidance tools in order to avoid or locate underground apparatus
- Safely excavate around buried cables & utiliites
- Understand rgulations & guidance in relation to cable avoidance & safe excavation
